"So, He made the ultimate sacrifice, giving up everything – all his glory, His life – to serve us. The Greek word for this sacrificial love is agape. I like this definition of agape love: "Unconditional love that is always giving and impossible to take or be a taker."To love in this way requires that we are always in a serving posture. This is the way GOD intended for us to love. It is a love that goes beyond you loving someone pass your limits and theirs. According to 1 Corinthians 13;4-8 :
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. This is the love I hope to share with my one day spouse. To have a love that doesn't waver when we're happy and when we're upset. I always want us to be able to tell each other the truth without keeping record of each others' wrongs and holding them against the other. I want love in the most purest and true form. I say I want this with my one day spouse because I've experienced love that was agape on one end and selfish on the other. I was always the one in the serving posture; loving beyond all my limits. I guess that's the thing about being a woman. We are born with this innate nurturing spirit; we give love so easily. Its just in us. I know that whenever GOD opens mine and my future husband's spiritual eyes and our paths become intertwine we will have this agape love. That in itself is something to look forward to.
